BEGST was founded with a clear and urgent mission: to inspire and empower students to pursue careers in STEM—Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics. These fields represent some of the fastest-growing and highest-paying sectors in the global economy. Yet, people of color remain significantly underrepresented both in STEM education and in the professional STEM workforce.
Despite well-meaning pledges from many institutions to address this disparity, progress has been slow and inconsistent. That’s where BEGST sees opportunity—not just for intervention, but for transformation.
We believe that when colleges and universities engage in our project-based STEM programs, they unlock powerful new pathways for student success. These programs are more than academic exercises—they are steppingstones to confidence, discovery, and career readiness.
